i got the feature length fox video screener at Eide's in Pittsburgh, PA for $2.95. it was a lucky find at a pretty well known underground video retailer.

I believe I have the uncut English version. It's a "screener" tape that I bought at a rummage sale for a buck. How can I tell if it's uncut?

reply

run time listed as 163 minutes at IMDB, english feature length screener tape and box do not show run time...not sure how to find out if cut or uncut

reply

That's right -- there's no listing of the run time on the box or the videocassette.

I get the feeling this is uncut, though. The scene where Ray finds Lesley bleeding in the bathroom after losing her baby was somewhat graphic, at least for TV. And the sensors going up Mary's nose may not have passed the censors. Otherwise, this is pretty standard TV movie fare.

I believe my version is cut, because I don't recall these scenes. Do you know why they were cut? For "objectionable" content or just running length?

I also suspect it's due to running length. And honestly, I think the "condensed" version of this film is plenty long as it is!

I haven't watched since like 1994 lol..I stuck it in the other day in a newer VCR and didn't have any issues with the tracking..but only watched like a half hour of it, then got tired. I'm sure it has those missing scenes because this is the complete 4 hour miniseries from the two night broadcast. My favorite part is the commercials! LOL. I have to transfer it to dvd. The aliens in this show are FREAKY!
