1. What exactly happened to that boy? We see something going on in his room and his mother trying to get in, and then when she gets in he mentions something and has a bloody nose. What happened to him, was it the aliens?
2. What was the barking dog in the flashbacks meant to represent?
3. What exactly was the general talking about in the end? When he was talking about why the cover up was necessary? I didn't quite get it.
The scene with the general offering Neil a job kind of intrigues me to believe that the producer(s) were thinking of turning "Intruders" into a TV series.
another question, the television repairmen, was that just how the aliens were disguised or was it the woman's projecting something over them or something like that?
no I haven't seen it, I've only watched the film on Youtube.
the woman saw the aliens outside as TV repairmen, if we are seeing it from her point of view then that is obviously what she saw, because she would have started panicking earlier if she saw that they were aliens. It is interesting to wonder why that's what they looked like, were the aliens using some device to make themselves look like that?
Also, I still wonder about what happened to the boy, there was no nose implant found in him, it looked like he was attacked.
And the dog, I swear I remember the character mentioning at one point that it "Wasn't really a dog"
I think the way this was done really adds to the psychological effect of the movie. Of course it was the intention of the writer to not just have aliens walking up to her house...that would not have left the same impression on the viewer. We are talking about this right now because of the intention of the writer. Good for him/her.
I like to think that the writer was "keeping it real" by showing what the every-day human mind produces based on its past experiences. It was very early in the morning (2 or 3, or 4 o'clock) and who would ever expect they were going to be abducted by "aliens". The only thing she could imagine, produce, and understand in her own capacity at that awkward time was that there was a logical explanation for what was going on. Oh, it must be a construction crew with those flashing lights. As she became more awake, she then was able to dissect what was happening.
I don't think the "aliens" were using a device to mask themselves. I believe it was the intention of the writer to show how the human mind tries to make earthly sense out of what is happening in their environment.
