Need help in remembering this film, please!

I remember a mini-series (I think, possibly a one-shot TV movie) that aired in the late 80's or early 90's about a woman who realizes she has been abducted by aliens. I am not sure if the film I remember is "Intruders" or not. The only specific details I can remember are the woman has a sudden bloody nose at a store of some kind,a seizure after seeing a painting of a devil-like creature, she is bothered in the middle of the night by yellow flashing lights that she believes belongs to a street crew or some type of maintenance crew but later remembers (through hypnosis) the lights belong to the E.T.'s, very dark figures walk through her walls toward her bed that she later identifies as aliens, and I believe things happened to her every night at the same time(3:45am?). I am 23 years old now and seeing as how these memories are at least 10 years old they are certainly fuzzy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Whatever this film is it scared me for a whole summer.

Hey, is it me or is it ironic how u wrote this on Friday 13th?

Anyway, to answer your question, yes, every detail u remember is about Intruders and they are certainly accurate for someone remembering it 10 years back. I myself was about 7/8 when I watched Intruders on cable here in the UK for the first time and I remembered almost exactly the same scenes you did and in great detail! I take it you mustve been about 10 or 11 when u watched it? This film scared me for like a whole few months and whenever I read about UFOs after that period in my life, the memories of it would come flooding back. One of my friends too recalls a certain scene very accurately (the one where the woman is woken up at night by lights and sees the maintenance crew). Im beginning to think it mustve had a deep scarring impact on us kids for us to remember it in that much detail and even more bizarre, we only remember those particular scenes and not much else. Anyway, I hoped this helped.

Thanks for the help. It's good to hear
i am not the only one who was scared by, or even remembers, this film. I just found the DVD on Amazon and I'm mulling over a purchase, but I don't want to ruin my memories by realizing the movie is a turd. I'll flip a coin.

Thanks again!

I know this is an old post, but have you seen the DVD available anywhere else? I can't find it on amazon and I'm in Zone 1 as far as DVDs go and can't find a copy on ebay :S

reply

This movie scared me to death as a child, especially watching it after seeing a real UFO.

reply

I remember the same series back from 1993. Gave me nightmares as a kid. I cannot remember much about it, but it has been reissued on DVD by Paramount Home Entertainment, so it could be worth checking out.

reply

hey manitou-full-moon, are u in the UK? Did u see Intruders on cable as well at that time?

ill agree with everyone else. that this series scared the living hell out of me when i was younger. a generation of kids scared at Intruders. {sigh} having a relapse of watchin it now.

..been dazed and confused for so long..

probably one of, if not the most, scariest movies I've ever seen. when it was aired on cable back in 1992 I was 14 and had a very difficult time sleeping, being alone, in the dark, etc. after watching. i used to get nosebleeds as a kid and after seeing the nosebleed segments of the movie i was just sickened! I just watched it again for the first time in 14 years, now 28, and was still very frightened....how about the hypnotherapy session where she remembers the first abduction experience...kid leading the two young girls up the path in the woods to the ufo...oh my gosh! that was just terrifying. i've been recommending this on horror message board to everyone looking for a very scary movie, but it's pretty obscure. got it on vhs at 'eide's' in Pittsburgh for 4 or 5 bucks or something like that. if anyone knows the names of other movies like this one send them out...peace.

reply

That UFO model was cool.

I wish I had it.

Another movie like this is 'Communion' with Christopher Walken. It's similiar in that Walken plays a writer who starts to remember alien abductions...it's also based on a true story (book by the same name). There's a scene where Walken wakes up in the night and sees a 'grey' peeking around the dresser in his bedroom that always scares the bejesus outta me!

...and nobody beats The Riz!

Oh my god. I remember the exact scene too. lol I was about....7-10 when I saw the movie on tv one night. I was never into ufo's or aliens, but I saw that movie and to this day all I can remember about it is what you guys have mentioned above; the woman waking up and thinking a construction crew is outside her home, but they're aliens, and they come through the walls. And if memory serves me right, the scene ends with her screaming/hiding under the kitchen table as they approach her? That's all I remember about this movie! It totally freaked me out and to this day aliens [grey's] scare me. lol But I still bought it on DVD! haha

I realize that this is a very old thread, but I'm posting in hopes of someone who is able to help reading it. Does anyone at all know where I can find a dvd of this if I live in the US? I am really wanting to watch it now! I remember very vaguely that it scared the shhhhhh!!!! outta me in only the first scene! I very hazily remember two little girls walking in daylight in the woods or something and all of a sudden there was a shot of an alien turning their head very fast towards the camera, and they had red hair. I was instantly terrified and my dad had to turn it off. That's the only part I ever saw, but since then I've always wanted to see the whole thing. Is this memory accurate at all?

I know Kung Fu.

reply

Lots of copies on E Bay.

reply

It's so funny most people posting on here saw it when they were young kids. I saw it when I was about 12, just about the time I saw 'Fire in the Sky' and it scared the *beep* out of me. That scene when one of the characters follows the little girl to the lake in the forrest, and she turns around and is a half alien nearly made me crap my pants.

I think that movie was called Roswell or Roswell coverup. I actually have that taped from T.V. It made me a little less scared of Aliens, because the alien went on an adventure with them. He called himself DOS after the program. Look up Roswell on here, I'm sure you'll find it.

Ohmygod!!! this is my first post on IMDB just for this movie and JUST for this topic, i too remember this movie and ONLY the scene with the maintenance crew! scared the hell out of me to when i was like 12-13 lol, finally found this movie!

I remmeber seeing it when I was a kid back in '92 and being scared sh*tless when I saw the little girls in the woods scene*shudders*. Anyway I rented the movie again 5 years later and was entertained and intrigued by the movie because I was older and understood it more. Yall may find this movie in old video stores or at a flea market. They may have it on dvd some where but you may have to order it online. I would'nt mind seeing it again myself.

Hehe sounds familiar. I remember that it scared the *beep* out of me and my brothers when were kids.

Im glad im not alone cause that scene and the alien poking its head behind the door in communion made me afraid of aliens for years.

You can watch it here- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMKRrgHvyOs&feature=PlayList&p=B36CB3209B5EC4C9&index=17 if you don't mind Spanish subtitles and the words DocLottaLove at the top. I had seen the second half of this in 1998 but missed the first half. They never repeated it either so it was good to see the full movie, subtitles aside ;).

I was remembering this movie earlier today. The first time I watched it I was 7 and scared me especially the girls in the woods scenes. I remember in the late 90's Lifetime aired it and it wasn't as scary as the first time I saw it.

reply

Haha, man. I've been reading all the other posts. Seems like a whole generation of kids have been traumatized by this movie. I saw this movie on TV when I was about 7 or 8. I vividly remember the scenes with the woman calling to complain about the "construction crew," the part where she cooks an egg and has a flashback where she sees the eye of an alien, the scene where she gets nosebleed in the supermarket and later on where the doctor pulls a computer chip out of her nose. I remember pretending not to be disturbed by it (otherwise my parents wouldn't have allowed me to keep watching), but it scared the HELL out of me and it freaked me out for years. I think the only other movie that had such an impact on me as a kid has to be "Stephen King's It," a made-for-television miniseries.

reply

I'm amazed as to why everybody, myself included, only seem to remember specific scenes in great detail...the 2 girls chasing the 'boy' in the woods who stands with a UFO in front of him and that HORRIBLY SCARY face when he turns around, the maintenance crew at night, the nose bleed scene and the doc pulling the chip out....I cannot beleive my dad even let me watch something like that with him at the age of 7!! Just out of curiosity, does anyone remember the ending where the woman is shown her 'child' aboard the spacecraft? That seems to stick out in my mind quite well.

This film scared me as a 13-year-old. I just thought it was going to a sci-fi film, and had no idea about alien abductions. I had a shock!

I was actually quite scared to be up late and of the dark for sometime after this film, and the scenes people mentioned here do stick in the mind, because they are always cut to very quickly. The creatures appearing through the wall messed me up for nights on end, hahaha!

I especially remember the scene of the little girl that gets lead into the forest by the waving child.

I have been trying to track this movie down for some time now.

I forget exactly when i saw it (it might have been the late 90's), but i always remembered a scene at the end where this woman is shown her child on board a UFO and the child is an alien human hybrid.

i think she asks the "main" alien if that is her child and another alien there gets mad at the woman saying that the child isn't hers but theirs. Then the "main" alien asks her (this is all through telepathy of course) if the child would be accepted in her world (meaning Earth) and she says to the main alien that the child would most likely not be accepted.

the woman is comforted by the main alien over the fact that the child she was impregnated with will be staying with the aliens and not going with her. The main alien was so nice to care about her feelings. I also thought it was nice of the alien to let her meet the child and know that the child will be kept safe with them.

i read in another post on this thread about the scene where the kids are running through the woods and the child in front of them turns to face them and you see that the child is an alien hybrid. Once i read that i then remembered that scene so i know that this is the movie i saw.

I also remember a scene where the woman who was impregnated by the aliens is sitting down to dinner or some kind of meal with a group of friends and one of her friends is a priest. the priest is asked what he thinks about the possibility of aliens and he says something to the affect that he doesn't see why there couldn't be aliens and that the Lord works in mysterious ways!

I always thought that was so cool of the writers to have a priest say that instead of saying something that you would expect a priest to say like God only created humans and aliens must be demons or put there by the devil to deceive us.

i have always remembered those scenes.

I never did understand why the other alien got so mad at the woman for asking if the child was hers. i also thought these beings were incapable of human emotion.

i am so glad i finally found the name of this movie which i assume was made for tv.

i'm sorry if i was wrong about the angry alien. it has been a long time since i have seen the movie and i might have confused that scene with a different movie. at least i was right about the other scenes. not bad for over a decade : )

i would love to see the movie again. i wonder why 30 minutes was cut?

perhaps you can make a copy of the uncut version that you have?

Thanks for the info!

Unfortunately, i can't read very much German. i know a few words since my heritage comes from Germany and Poland.

i wish I could speak and read more foreign languages. However, I did take many years of French. i'm kicking myself now.

as they say in German I am such a dummkopf!

: )

I'm going to go to youtube and check it out. i always loved that made for tv movie because it seemed to very accurately depict what many abductees have reported happening to them.

Vielen Dank, sehr nett von Ihnen.

i checked out the version on youtube but the idiot who uploaded it "branded" the video with their username and it is very distracting.

The watermark is right at the top of the screen and stays there throughout the whole movie. it doesn't go away.

all the person had to do was make it smaller and put it in the corner of the screen.

i am searching the web for a better version. if all else fails i'll go back to youtube

I found a version using bittorrent.

it is downloading now and has about 10 hours more to go. i will watch it when it is done downloading and check the quality of it.

there are a few torrents of the movie out there, but one of them is in portuguese so i don't plan to download that one. the one i am dowloading states it is a DVD rip of the movie but i didn't know it was on DVD.

I checked Amazon and it is on DVD but not for use in the United States. There is a UK version and a Latin-American version.

they also have used US VHS versions. the cheaper ones are 27 dollars which isn't too bad. however, a couple of the sellers want 40 dollars and someone wants 100 dollars for the tape! i really want to see the movie, but who would pay 100 dollars for a used VHS tape????

here's the link:
http://www.amazon.com/Intruders-VHS-Richard-Crenna/dp/6302587298/ref=s r_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=video&qid=1263721619&sr=1-1

here's the link to the UK version:
http://www.amazon.com/Intruders-NON-USA-FORMAT-PAL-Reg-2/dp/B001ANWWPW /ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1263720429&sr=1-1

if you have a Region 2 DVD player you can watch it. i wonder if my computer DVD drive could play PAL format?

I'll just keep downloading the .avi and see what i get. if it is any good i will let you know and perhaps i can get it to you somehow.

hi,

your english is great! i understand what you are saying. i didn't realize what runtime to look for.

however, guess what? The version i was downloading off bittorrent is over 2 hours long! it has a runtime of 2 hours and 42 minutes! this .avi version must be uncut AND it is in english.

I didn't watch it entirely but judging from the parts i did watch the quality is fantastic! the picture resolution is very high since the size is a little over a GB!

Perhaps i can get a copy to you if you would like to see it? i will find a place to upload it and then send you the link.

[deleted]

wow three hours long! that is a big difference.

i didn't realize it was so long. here in the US that would be considered a mini-series television program due to it's length and would take two days to show it.

even though i can't read German i compared the scenes on the site with the version i downloaded and the scenes on the web site are missing from the version i just watched. the version i just watched seems pretty much to be the one i remember seeing in 1992.

perhaps the movie was originally going to be 3 hours, but then it was decided(or they were forced) after it was already filmed to trim it down to fit into a two hour time slot for US television. however, for overseas television they could show the 3 hour movie since tv is less restrictive in other countries.

you have peaked my curiosity about the 3 hour version. i would like to see it to see how different it is.

i just finished watching the version i downloaded and i watched it at night. i felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand at certain scenes. it was a joy to see the movie again after all these years. i never forgot about this movie.

i will try to find the 3 hour version but it might be difficult to find. especially in english. if i can find a german version with english subtitles i don't mind reading lol

: )

i found out that it was a mini-series in 1992, and 4 hours long! This might be why it is so difficult to find a US full version on dvd. if the company that owns the rights doesn't see a huge profit in putting in on dvd, then they won't do it. not to mention the entire mini-series is 4 hours long.
