Was I the only one who thought (SPOILERS!)

At the end where they're on the ledge of the building and Bernie slips and they start playing that patriotic music, was I the only one who thought Bernie would really fall to his death? First time I saw it it seemed like that would be the perfect ending, but I still loved the ending it had (layers of *beep*

hm, odd, i never thought that bernie would die...the movie's too "nice" for that...it wasn't the kind of movie to end in death..."cheesy" maybe is a better word...but a good kind of cheesy

Emma died in Terms of Endearment and Shelby died in Steel Magnolias. Those were both comedies.

Leonardo died at the end of Titanic. I laughed heartily as his little blue piggy face slipped under the waves.

...this would have been a better film with about 15 - 20 minutes cut out of it to speed up the pace?

And no OP; I never thought Bernie would die.

RE : Titanic-I laughed a LOT harder than I might have, about this time in '97--since a woman behind me in the theater was LOSING IT , with emotion. I could barely contain myself from cracking up with laughter!!
