When I saw "Hero" for the first time, I was immediately reminded of a short story by James Thurber.

Mr. Thurber observed that all of our heros at that time were clean cut, Mr. Nice Guy types. What if someone with an absolutely terrible personality or lifestyle were to become a hero?

I believe he was awarded a medal of honor by the president, then thrown out of a skyscraper window by the cabinet.

well..someone else had the same idea and turned it into a successful movie...

i agree with you, all the Hero's in the movies are nice guys, they are perfect, they never do mistakes, nice and descent, and thats not the real life, I love this movie because it shows that you can be a non-nice guy but also a Hero
