Chewing gum
I love how chewing was used in this movie as a kind of symbol for swagger. Pacino used it quite obviously, I used to work with a guy who always pretended to chew when he was addressing a group in order to demonstrate nonchalance - it was like he was saying, "I'm eating, so I'm not all that invested in you." When Jack Lemmon is trying to ream out Kevin Spacey near the end of the film, and he's chewing after his lunch and picking his teeth and then says, "I'm done with ya," he's kind of showing the same kind of self-delusion. So great.
