We watched this movie in my us history class the other day, but class ended before we could quite finish the movie and i have to answer some questions on it by tomorrow.
we got to the part where joseph and the other guy were almost at the land stake and joseph falls off his horse. My friends explained that joseph died and came back to life, but what about the other guy? did he get shot too or what? i am rather confused....

And unlike his father, Joseph 'won't be dying twice' and the movie ends with he and Shannon claiming their land together, the implication being that they lived happily ever after.

Joseph didn't fall off his horse. Horse wouldn't stop so Joeseph threw himself off at the quarter section stake.
