which guy
would you have wanted Shannon to end up with? I'd pick Steven because Joseph was just too rugged for me.

shareI have to say that if she had stayed with Steven then there is no way they should have left New England because they were both pansies. But since she went out west, Joseph is the better pick because not only does he really love her (which I doubt Steven does), but he is also better equiped to live the farm life. He could take better care of her.
shareew, Steven had a major stick up his bum.
shareI would have picked Joseph. Stephen seemed to controlling over Shannon despite his claims that he "loved" her. Whereas Shannon and Joseph were pretty much two kindred spirits who both felt repressed (Shannon repressed because her mother was trying to turn her into a stuffy young woman like the way her mother and her mother's friends were and Joseph because the land he had wasn't his and felt cheated for what had been done to his land) and needed to escape to somewhere more open and welcoming than Ireland had been for either one. I mean think of it this way. Even though Joseph REALLY wanted that land, he was ready to give up his claim for it because he wouldn't have Shannon to share it with him, whereas Stephen cared less and was pretty much ready to kill Joseph for the land.

I couldn't believe that the Dharma guy was the same one who played Stephen in Far and Away...he just looks so totally different to me...

ouch! you'd rather love an arrogant a-hole who will kill a man at the drop of a hat, rather than Joseph, a hard-working decent man who loves family and has honour and intergrity?
strange....... I guess its true, that alot of women still have the childish notion that the "bad rich boy" will make them happier than a real man.
