Why so underrated?
This was one of the best movies of the '90s. Beautiful cinematography, great John Williams score (not to mention Enya), Ron Howard did an excellent job directing it, the story was very interesting and romantic. I really rooted for the characters to realize their dreams, freedom, happiness, etc. I was able to relate to the injustice Irish people suffered at the turn of the century. The way the characters dreamed and hoped for land of their own was beautiful. It reminded me very much of an Edna Ferber or Willa Cather story in its love for the land.
Probably the most underrated film in Kidman's career, and one of Tom's best.
