This movie creates the love feeling. Not many movies achieved this.
Two individuals meant to be together torn apart by many obstacles and finally come together and admit there love. Well it's simple, but who said its difficult to feel great feelings. However irrational the plot seems for many critics here. It's not about the settlers or other historic facts actually, it's about great feelings. You feel it or not.
Yes, I was thinking this as well. I like how the movie took its time to build the love between the two characters. Only about halfway in do you get the first hint that Shannon is warming up to Joseph, after he barges through the door covered in blood from boxing, you can hear the concern for him in her voice and, soon after, the jealousy towards Grace. But the love story was subtle and paid off in the end when it needed to. It didn't feel rushed or forced like it does in other movies.
