The freakin' 'hood' .. WTH ????

I almost turned it off 15 mins into the film. The whole debate as to whether to remove the hood off Jodys head ('Hes suffocatin' in this heat ...') or not because he would 'see' the others .
Not one of these geniuses had ever heard of a blind fold ?

They wanted to keep the hood on him to keep from seeing his face, so that they didn't sympathize with him for when it came time to kill him.
