I was waiting for some kind of twist concerning his relationship with Dil (siblings, etc.). Never happened, so I am left to believe he fancied it both ways. Any thoughts?

I figured he was -- for lack of a better descriptor -- a tranny chaser. After all, he did say Jude "was not his type", which seems to indicate he wasn't that attracted to regular women. And it's unlikely he'd be homosexual, because I doubt many homosexual men have an interest in feminine transwomen.
