How was this scene done?

The scene when his brother gets him his first job when he was just a teenager, to convince the director that he had a talent for comedy he's reading a sign and with each sway of his body he appears to grow taller, how did he do that?

Each time I watch the film it baffles me because it looks so authentic.

You just couldn't do it, could you? You couldn't answer a simple question without insulting someone? I expected a much better class of people from Chaplin fans, guess I was wrong, you aren't safe anywhere on IMDB.

Thanks for nothing, dickhead.

Don't worry about it. ;)

The jacket was kinda long, so it hid the fact that he was crouched, and was slowly standing up.

Mirror inspector is a job I could really see myself doing.
