What are your feelings on Natalie Portman NOT being on THOR: RAGNAROK?

I have a bag of mixed feelings but wanted to hear your opinions.

That depends on the movie itsself. If they need to jump through hoops just to get her in the story then No thank you. But of she is just replaced by another love interest then I regret it.

My feelings are very positive. No Foster, a Hulk, CAte Blanchett. All signs point to good.

No Portman means no Kat Dennings right? If so then hoo-fn-ray

Out of all the relationships in the MCU, Thor and Janes is the least interesting and the least believable. So cheesy at times too.

Yesterday I was listening to Collider talk about the chick from Creed who was casted and some said she could be Thors new love interest and Jon Schnepp said she could be Hulks love interest and if that happens, I'm going to rebel. Horrible idea. But who knows, maybe this story has no place for Jane and she'll be brought back later but this is good news. Ragnarok needs to deliver on the magnitude of its story.

GOOD. She's nice to look at but she doesn't seem enthused to be in the MCU and I'm happy for Thor 3 to not take place for even one frame of the movie on Earth.

Good she isn't suited for these types of movies.

It is almost a non-entity for me.
I'm neither happy nor upset about it.

The only Earth scenes I care about are how Bruce Banner gets transported to Asgard or Hel and why. I don't care for Jane or Darcy.

I want Thor 3 to be pure cosmic goodness.

reply

I should feel bad but, I don't.

I would have preferred that she returned...even if it was in a minor role where her character was killed for dramatic impact.

I'm a huge stickler for continuity. I don't like characters to be re-cast, and I don't like characters to be 'written out' between movies.

So far, the MCU has done a great job of keeping the common 'franchise flaws' to a minimum...but this will be one example I REALLY don't care for, just like Betty Ross not returning or ever being mentioned again.

I can do this all day.

reply

Yeah, practically the entire "Incredible Hulk" movie was hardly mentioned again which to me is the one MAJOR flaw in the MCU, especially since there is a lot of plot threads dangling from the movie that was not explained for the main audience ( I don't count comic book tie ins).
