I Loved The Movie However

It's sick and disturbing but one thing got to me.

Police do not exist in this universe.

Yes that is definitely true, but that's all part of the satire. A lot of the movie is a commentary on how the police don't care if poor people get killed. That's why Ben makes a point to say that he goes after poor people who no one cares about. That's also why he talks so much about how much he thinks it's an injustice what the city does with the communal apartments. There's a lot of contemporary French socio-cultural politics lurking in the background of this movie. Ben's wanton disregard for human life and the way he will just break down a door and shoot someone without any thought as to the consequences is meant to show how much society is messed up.

I should also note, if you don't normally watch lots of French cinema it is a classic plot device (even more so than in American films) to make police look inept and ridiculous or completely non-existent. In this movie particularly they are a non-presence as part of showing how little society cares.

I'd like to see a movie based on the guy who kills these sick freaks.

Miskatonic University - Go Pods !!!

I've seen a few episodes of Dexter. I wasn't in love with it.

Watch Diehard, or any other mainstream american action hero-movie where the "good guy" catches the "bad guy".

There's really no shortage of that type of movie.

reply

Die Hard is great but not what I'm talking about.
