If this were rated today, would it still be NC-17?

Given that there's not that much blood and very little gore, I could see this being looked at more leniently. However, the child scene is pretty damn *beep* up. Just curious if anyone has any thoughts.

I'm pretty certain it would. Although there is not much blood or gore, it is still very violent and dark. Also, the fact that most of the characters aren't fased by the horrific acts and sometimes even join in, makes the whole film more disturbing.

I would say so, though these days filmmakers are cramming an incredible amount of violence into R-rated films ... and PG-13-rated films.
Of course, with all the full frontal nudity here, this could never be rated R. 

I've seen R rated movies with full frontal nudity. I don't think that would be an issue. It is the violence and overall tone of the movie that I think would keep it NC-17. The rape scene is particularly upsetting.

I think that one shot after the rape scene with the womens guts ripped out all over the place would still get it an NC-17. The child death scene was also pretty brutal.
