What did they do after the rape?
What did they do to the bodies of the couple after the rape. Was that what I think it was all over the woman?
shareWhat did they do to the bodies of the couple after the rape. Was that what I think it was all over the woman?
sharePlease never post anything again. Thanks.
share*beep* you, it was a reasonable question.
Just because you can't handle your own on these boards doesn't mean the intellectuals have to leave your idiocy to the rest.
shareYah, it's her guts, they split her open.
shareThanks, it was hard to tell.
shareOk guys i actually don't recall which scene the rape scene was.
Was it the scene in which they enter an apartment and a couple is having sex in the kitchen? Then you see them dead and naked. If thats the scene how do we know they were raped?
I apologise in advance if this is a stupid question but i would appreciate an answer no matter how obvious it is.
Edit: Nevermind, just realised i saw the edited version. So did the whole film crew rape the woman? I'm interested to know how graphic it was but i'm not gonna bother seeing the unedited version.
[deleted]
You obviously watched the edited version. Ask for your money back.

At what point did you realize "hey, these guys are crossing the line here?" The first random public murder? The murder and undressing of the black victim? No. The child murder? No. No, you realized that this movie is wrong when somebody was putting something other than bullets into his helpless victims.
Yo, your priorities are all out of whack.
[deleted]
To be fair, you didn't supply ANY of that information beforehand, so the response wasn't exactly unfair.
shareThe point of this scwne was to point out to the viewer just how twisted their viewpoint is.Rape is a horrifying crime-and this scene is seen(by some)as being the most disturbing in the film.
But-and this is the point-a catalogue of murders has been committed up to this point-without the reaction this one scene got.
The viewer is-rightly-expected to see this scene as showing a terrible crime, and then question why the rape is so much worse than the 9ollective impact of the previous killings. The desensitisation to violence(when it isn't rape)is in contrast to the view we take of this scene.
Isn't that so because even though murder is still bad and it is wrong, rape has lifelong suffering consequences and that it associates something beautiful and pleasurable with pain and suffering, as well as gross invasion of privacy.
The greatest trick the Devil has ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist!
I guess I shouldn't recommend to you the movie Irreversible?

So you are telling me that you never watched a murder scene in a film before? Every time a murder scene comes on in a movie you think, "ugh, they've crossed the line", and turn it off.
If you do not do that, then you are exactly the type of person this moving is making a point about.

"I did NOT see the first part of the movie. I came in five minutes before the rape."
"When the rape scene came on I stopped watching."
so what you are basically saying is that you havent seen the movie...
"I'm a woman BTW."
thank you for letting us know, i thought theres another guy
who called himself missfunnybone...

You are such an idiot you don't even realize how much of an idiot you are. It seems that you are suggesting that no work of art should ever approach the subject of rape, regardless of the work's overall message or the skill of the artist. If you think that we should simply gloss over rape and pretend it doesn't exist, then you entirely miss the point of why art is created.
I suggest that you should only see children's movies from now on. There's one coming out in a few weeks that I think you would like: Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore.
Or maybe you're just trolling.

Oh, I'm sorry. I see how you skillfully refuted my central argument by using your detective skills to find that I once had a Buzz Lightyear doll when Toy Story came out in 1995. Now I feel dumb for even trying to argue an entirely unrelated point because I owned a Buzz Lightyear doll at one point in my childhood! Gee, I'm sure embarrassed! You're totally right now; rape should never be shown in film because it's just too darn hard to watch! I'm glad most filmmakers stick to easy subjects such as femininity and comedy, because otherwise people might get offended!
shareI just wanted to say I like you.
missfunnybone is a sad, strange little woman. She has my pity.
In a perfect world you and I probably wouldn't exist so stop hoping for one.
"the rape scene was heavily criticised for crossing the line. Not art but graphic violence for the sake of it. "
Ah, so you read some reviews to let you know what to think about the rape scene. And they told you it was crossing the line. Your 5 minute assessment was clearly not enough for you to make up your mind.
Furthermore, you now take it upon yourself to tell OTHERS what to think (it was crossing the line, your regurgitated opinion) about a film they have watched in entirety and get annoyed when they don't follow suite. Sounds like bullying to me. Those poor women in your refuge must just love it when you come around to bully, I mean see them.

"I won't say any more about this film except that my female friends agree with me"
"....And the point is that women will never find any merit, artistic or otherwise, in veiwing a rape scene in a film. That is why I mentioned that fact. And I didn't realise that you had to see a whole film to comment on one small part of it"
" I actually work in a womens' refuge.....my priorities are NOT out of whack.....thank you."
Unless you provide a link to the Women's Center you work at I am going to go ahead and call you a fvcking LIAR, and the worst type.
I AM a feminist, and I love this movie, the fact that you seem to feel the need to use your "gender" as a defense is sickening to me.
" I made it clear that I hadn't seen the film up to that point. And calling someone an idiot because they don't share your own opinion is peurile and bullying. And wow oh wow........men can be raped! What a revelation!"
Kill yourself, dude.
stop trolling.
Personally I find the extended ritual/rape scenes in Eyes Wide Shut to me a million times more offensive and horrible- but then again you have to USE YOUR MIND to discern SYMBOLISM and TONE.
I am pleased you have taken it upon yourself to speak out for 50% of the human population of the planet. You must be a real big hitter in your refuge.
You are incorrect. Many females accept the point and merit in the rape scenes in both Clockwork Orange and Straw Dogs, when I have watched them in female company.
Maybe get off your patronising high horse, watch some films for more than five minutes, and then you'll be fit to comment on IMDB.

I'm a woman but that's far from the point, same when you mentioned your sex.
And yes, you do need to see an entire film in order to comment on it... well, in order for your comment to hold anything at all.
And do I need to point out it was a film? Sure real life rape is horrible, so is murder and all that jazz. If you're going to get upset over something portrayed in a film, then control what you see. Maybe a friend had it on while you were over? Well then they don't know you very well so I suggest staying out of strangers' homes.
Respect works of fiction for what they are and calm down. Nothing in this film said it was alright to do what they did so clean the sand from your vag.
Thanks, have a great day!
We've met before, haven't we?
Sure real life rape is horrible, so is murder and all that jazz.<<snipped>>
All that Jazz
The hit song “All that Jazz” is the origin of the saying. It is used on the end of a sentence or list instead of the word “etc.”.
A: “So what are you up to today?”
B: “Well I’m going to the shop, going to walk my dog, clean and all that Jazz.”
We've met before, haven't we?
Yes, it was a joke. I guess I needed the emoticon. Cheers,
shareNo need for emoticons when you can properly express yourself. Your attempt at humor was a poor one, that's all.
We've met before, haven't we?
Not sure what crawled up your butt (and lots of folks on the "Internets") of late.
Saying "all that jazz" is friggin' hilarious - when you could've merely expressed yourself properly in the first place.
I barely remember what happened after the rape, no less the movie. All I remember is your piss poor attitude and piss poor attempt at an insult.
There, no emoticon needed.
Are you one of those females who think all males who attempt to talk aren't allowed when the subject is rape? Sheesh.
Are you one of those females who think all males who attempt to talk aren't allowed when the subject is rape? Sheesh.
Yes, if that was your original post (I had to compare the 2 as it didn't occupy a place in long-term memory - nor should it), I wouldn't have commented at all.
Then we wouldn't have had this absolutely scintillating conversation, now, would we? ;-)
I actually like your style there, ma'am. You were actually pretty abrasive in your original comment.
Now if I were to be hyper-critical though, I might question why you equated bureaucracy with those other nasties.
It's kind of like saying, "Sure real life rape is horrible, so is murder, cannibalism, pedophelia, lynching, terrorism, genocide, typos, malapropisms, misplaced modifiers, split infinitives, and *gasp* dangling participles (which are illegal in certain parts of Texas)."
Cheers, ma'am
To answer your question, it's because I work for the Government of Canada. That was my attempt at humour.

....And the point is that women will never find any merit, artistic or otherwise, in veiwing a rape scene in a film...
the whole point of the movie was to make the audience question themselves.
When the mirder scene came on I stopped watching. They crossed the line. It was really upsetting. I'm a human BTW.
shareThe whole film crew raped the woman, after which Benny took his turn. Then they cut to the next morning, with the crew and Benny sleeping it off on the floor in the same room, with her eviscerated body still on the bed and her husband's body in the sink.
sharei agree, missfunnybone is a huge idiot. she watched 1 scene of a movie that happens to be a rape scene and then feels compelled to come on a message board about the movie and let everyone know that this movie sucks because it has a rape scene in it and that she is a women and all women dont like rape scenes in movies. well i have news for u sweetheart! i watched this movie with a women and who had not only seen it before but recommended it to me and thinks that this is a very interesting and compelling movie! just to reiterate, missfunnybone is queen of the idiots.
fyi men can be raped too.
[deleted]
I'm a woman and if there's a rape in a movie it doesn't bother me, because it's a movie. The actress isn't being raped and no one is really being killed it isn't a snuff film. Rape in real life is awful, but when it's in a film it's fake, filmmakers aren't telling anyone that they should do this in real life or acting like it is a joke.
share[deleted]
from trivia "The filmmakers were very nervous while shooting the rape scene. The actress who played the rape victim was very supportive of cause of the film, however, and let the filmmakers do their thing. This gave comfort to the crew"
shareI watched this with my wife and we made out during the rape scene (and I praised the lord she is not 300lbs like the girl in the movie!). Each to their own.
~ Observe, and act with clarity. ~
Rape scenes in films can be disturbing, particularly for women viewers and those who are sensitive about these things. Who the *beep* would want to 'make-out' after seeing a naked fat lady with her tw....at covered in blood? Did you murder the postman the next morning as well? Having said that, a pretty funny film for those who like their violence on the realistic side.
apologies- if my name offends anyone.
Unfortunately they didn't go for "round two" in the morning. Bitch had more holes than she started with, why not go for multiple penetration?
