Ben Affleck

Dude, I knew that was him as the basketball player!

You mean you knew in 1992? Or you knew years later, after you might have first seen the movie?

He actually gives one of the movie's funniest performances though - when Grueller growls at him and he cringes and just hands him the ball!

reply

JUST watched it for the first time in absolutely YEARS and had the same reaction. Same for Natasha Gregson Wagner; she looks so plain in this movie.

reply

Um....I'm probably going to sound super-ignorant here, but - who is Natasha Gregson Wagner? Natalie Wood's daughter, I know that for sure - but what has she accomplished in her own right?

reply

She turned in, IMO, a very nice performance in Two Girls and a Guy with Robert Downey Jr and Heather Graham, but I first noticed her in Lost Highway as Balthazar Getty's pre-Patricia-Arquette-bodily-fluid-receptacle. I'm a David Lynch dork, so I notice most actors that have been in his films.

reply

It wasn't until your comment that I realized she was one of the girls on the dance committee who was so thoughtful. She became Lotho bait later.

reply

Haha spotted him straight away, that face!! LOL

I think it's great that so many young performers who got their start (or at least one of their first roles) with this movie went on to enjoy so much notoriety later on. Hilary Swank and David Arquette's fates weren't too surprising, but Ben Affleck - WHOA! (Let that be a lesson, kiddies: NEVER give up.)

I think it's only fair that Kristy Swanson herself enjoy a comeback of sorts someday. And I'm not talking the "remember-when-so-and-so-was-famous" sort of nod that shows like FAMILY GUY like to dish out like so many personal pizzas; I'm talking something at least approaching a John Travolta-style resurrection. She still has at least three more decades of acting left in her, maybe more.

reply

Swanson has had a few big roles. She was in Dude Where's my Car, which may not seem like much. But her chops were all over that.

Seth Green also had a bit piece in the movie, making him the only actor to be in both the movie and the series.

LOL, watching the movie right now and just noticed that the basketball player from the red team is indeed Ben Afleck.

reply

OK, good, wasn't sure if it was him or just a lookalike.
