Why does Buffy tell Amilyn to clap?

Just before Buffy kills Amilyn, he tells her that vampires can do anything. She asks him to prove that by clapping. What does she mean by that?

reply

Because he has only one arm.

reply

Oh, I've never noticed that! It's easy to hide itself since we never see Amilyn lose his arm and his jacket still fits his shoulder perfectly. As he has both arms for most of the movie, it would be better if there were an explanation for what happens to the left one, unless if there is something else that I have missed. Thank you, coach-44.

reply

Oh goodness, I feel really silly. I finally realize that Amilyn 's arm is cut off when he's hanging on to Pike's car. I have been thinking until now that the arm that falls inside the car is that of a corpse and Amilyn uses it to catch Pike in a weaker state by disgusting him. I can't believe that I have never before been able to see that Amilyn walks away from Pike's car with a missing arm!

reply

Haha ... yeh it's made pretty clear in the scene.. and the other couple of times he mentions loosing his arm.

Thank God we have people like you around to let everyone know how dumb you think they are. I'm sure YOUR self-esteem is through the roof! How ridiculous of the OP to ask a question about a movie on a forum DEVOTED to the movie. It would have made a lot more sense to spend another two hours re-watching the movie to avoid any potential ridicule from complete strangers on the internet.

reply

glad you appreciate it (sarcasm). idiocy needs to be called out more often imo.
it would have been one thing if it was a very minor detail that is easily overlooked, but this was a major plot point in the movie so there's no forgiving it.

reply

"A major plot point" lol. I'll agree that stupidity should be pointed out and deterred... in politics or business or anything that ACTUALLY matters. But, as I was suggesting in my earlier post, the OP would have been far stupider to have given a *bleep* about what you or any other @$$hole on the internet thinks. And guess what? They GOT their answer, from someone who isn't an insecure @$$hole. While you're on your(hopeless) crusade against internet stupidity, you might want to take into consideration the fact that some people have lives and might need to get off the couch for five minutes to turn over the laundry or check on the kids. If they think they missed something, the IMDB community can be a valuable resource...so long as they aren't harassed by any internet d-bags.

YOU were insulting someone who asked a simple question. I'M calling someone out for being a bully. There's a difference. And it takes about five minutes to ask a question online. All you have to do is wait a few days(time that can be occupied doing useful things) and hope someone who isn't a jerk answers your question. Not exactly time consuming. The OP doesn't come across as a moron so much as a person who misinterpreted five seconds of a movie. You however come across as an insecure bully.

also if you look at all of their other posts on imdb its dumb questions or "living under a rock" posts.

bully or not i dont care. idiots need to be shamed

So do antagonizing pricks. Enjoy doing absolutely nothing positive on the internet.

reply
