Tim Burton rumored to do a Batman Beyond movie with Michael Keaton

It could come out in 2023.

That would be awesome. They can give Batman some personality again.

If it's anything like the cartoon, I'm all in!

With Michael Keaton as Alfred.

I'd watch it, but I'd rather they did The Dark Knight Returns with Keaton and Hamill as the Joker.

reply

I don't think they would do that but it would be way better. Batman Beyond could start a franchise. It would be awesome though a swan song for both of their characters.

I mean, if Burton and Keaton pair up for more Bats, I'm in either way. I'd definitely want to see Keaton don the Batsuit, though, in flashback or via some mech-back-brace. I don't want the dude confined to a wheelchair. (I don't know if this happens in BB, I've never seen it, only heard of it and seen some clips; I know it's well-loved and has a good rep).

Hamill is great as a voice actor for the Joker but I don't think he'd work live action.

reply

Maybe so, but I have faith that it would work. They could get Hamill down to fighting weight. I was so darn impressed by him in The Last Jedi - and that was with sloppy material - that I bet I'd dig his live-action Joker.

Whatever they do, I would like for it to be in the same style and feel as the first two Burton Batman films to make it seem as if the series has come full circle. It also would enhance the first two by making it seem like they are adding up to something greater and the wait between films was well worthwhile like how the first two seasons of Twin Peaks are enhanced by the 3rd season which didn’t come out until 25 years later or how the lesser sequels of Rocky (ie Rocky IV, Rocky V) are made better by the existence of Rocky Balboa and the Creed movies.

BETTER PASS ON BRINGING BURTON BACK THEN...HE HASNT BEEN IN CONTROL OF HIMSELF FOR YEARS...HE IS THE LAST PERSON ID TRUST TO MAKE THIS.

reply

I'd be down for that.
