Did this film define Sharon Stone?
Because of the infamous leg crossing scene?
shareYes but not so much for that. This was a massive hit and she was much of the reason for that.
She had had only had minor film and TV roles previously.
Made her a star...but not for very long.
1995's Casino is about the end of it(along with an Oscar nomination for that.)
But years later, I think she got the biggest payday of her life -- and the movie made via lawsuit -- for the supposedly awful Basic Instinct 2(which was famous for how many second-tier name Hollywood male stars would NOT do the movie, she got some British guy.)
And she's always working. That's the thing about making your name in a movie like Basic Instinct. You'll always have that name...just not the same big paychecks.
