How the hell has Nick managed to keep his badge over all these years? I would have arrested his ass on several all too convenient occasions. Why wasn't Catherine's new novel subpoenaed? Can somebody that rich be immune from ALL of that stuff? e.g. insinuating the deaths of cops, knowing way too many details about open and unsolved cases, hanging out exclusively with murderers, etc. It doesn't make any sense. A freaking lieutenant was murdered and nobody really bats an eye and somehow none of the cops Hank questions doesn't seem to know anything about this cop that they've met who has recently been murdered.

Totally. First of all, Nick should've been immediately taken off the case when it became apparent he was fucking Catherine Tramell. Total conflict of interest and nothing he discovered (or didn't discover) would ever hold up in court. It also made zero sense that he shot the brunette therapist chick to death and was never even so much as questioned about it, let alone detained. Nope--he just went about investigating along with his fellow investigators!
