4th floor plot holes ??SPOILERS??

I loved this movie but for me, the biggest plot holes were in the scene with the building/elevator at the end. So we are to believe that:

Catherine was on floor 2, knew the exact moment Gus got on the elevator on floor 1 even though she couldn't see him, hit the up button and raced up the stairs to floor 3, repeated this, got to floor 4 through the stairwell and then performed a stabbing murder in the elevator...unbeknownst to Beth - who was right there waiting to meet someone on that floor?!

Aside from the first part of that being tough to accept as possible, I can't believe that anyone, let alone someone as smart as Beth, wouldn't have the slightest clue there were neither stairwell and elevator character entrances nor someone being stabbed brutally and repeatedly. Especially when you're told to meet someone on a random floor of a hotel at midnight, you're going to be alert and look out for your safety and notice things like this.

Not to mention that she's a professional communicator...yet couldn't communicate to her boyfriend that she was unarmed?

It was too much for me to believe.

What was too much for me to believe was that V neck that Nicky wore.

And seriously, perhaps Catherine had an accomplice.

Perhaps she had clones.

Perhaps Beth, despite being clever, intelligent and a doctor, was pathologically dim.

Perhaps Catherine was fast.

Or perhaps we were meant to suspend our disbelief.

This. At least during the Gus murder.

Cause in the scene where Catherine tells Nick that her book is finished and his character is dead, Hazel Dobkins pops up and they both seem as if they're going off somewhere ("...be right there").

The scene where Gus is killed follows shortly.

My thought was that Hazel helped Catherine here. Perhaps she simply drove the car. Perhaps more than that. I don't think she stabbed Gus though, that was Catherine.

Office building--not a hotel.

It was used to build suspense. Also, right after Nicks partner crosses the street to enter the office building a car that passes by appears to almost hit him, signalling to the viewer he is about to die in the scene later to come.

Beth did the killings under Catherine's mind control. Remember, all the murders reflected what Catherine had set down in written word. She was some kind of clairvoyant who could use people as her human puppets. Think Charles Manson.

it was just the way teleportation worked in 90s film
