Good question, and not easily answered.
NikitaXC13 covered my opinions almost exactly.
In my opinion, Jeanne Tripplehorn's features, individually, are more attractive and sensual, but put together they're not as intriguing as Sharon Stone's, who comes across as more beautiful, overall, though her features, taken individually, are less striking and plainer.
Watching Basic Instinct, I simply could not look away from Sharon Stone, who - to me - looks just about as beautiful as any woman ever has in a film. The plain-ness of her features comes together to create stunning, perfect beauty. And of course a lot of credit has to go to Jan de Bont and his crew who lit and photographed her.
But Jeanne is another matter. She is a beauty in the opposite way to Sharon Stone. Her looks are much more 'interesting'. Basically, she's funny-lookin', but this is her charm, The imperfection of her features makes her utterly intriguing. The eyes in particular are incredible.
Watching Basic Instinct I was very drawn to both ladies, but there were some scenes with Stone when I was just thinking 'this is a good as any woman has ever looked'. With Jeanne, the closest I got was 'her eyes are amazing'.
I have to vote for Sharon on this one.
Never defend crap with "It's just a movie"
