I knew Zoe and she was proud of this film, and even moreso of her many unrealized projects in a cruelly shortened life. It is very unfortunate that, other than some true fans, she is not given enough recognition now, 10 years after passing away. Even Abel confiscates the lion's share of credit for this film -he's the director, but I'm not in favor of his egotripping. I interviewed her several times in the '80s and her various screenplay adaptations and other Abel projects that never were made have always saddened me -she deserved to get a break! For your information, it is interesting that another aspiring filmmaker I knew briefly, Joseph Vasquez, also died prematurely, and guess what -some joker on the IMDb trashes him at great length (and with endless innuendo) in the so-called Mini Bio section, which IMDb refuses to delete. Both Zoe and Joe deserve much more "in memoriam" recognition.
