Deserves to be Mentioned Among the Best NYC Movies

Midnight Cowboy, Mean Streets, Taxi Driver...Bad Lieutenant.

A gritty, unorthodox voyeur's glimpse into a life in full implosion, marvelously acted by Keitel.

He should have won the Oscar for Best Actor, but this film was way too dangerous for the Academy to touch.

The film and Keitel's performance are brutal, honest and unique among the endless list of boring and predictable cop movies.

It's a masterpiece, in it's own *beep* up way.

I agree.Scorsese had it in the top ten movies of the 90's.

I know nothing about New York, but I think this movie as incredible multi-leveled to a degree that most movie makes should aspire. Yet it possessed a realistic and gritty simplicity that when examined only adds to it uniqueness, expertise, and complexity.

Truly a must see.
