it sickens me to see people making fun of this movie, and calling it a "black comedy", gosh! harvey keitel's performance in this movie is incredible, the movie is often extremely disturbing, and it makes you feel so uncomfortable. i have to admit that i didn't care much for this movie the first time i watched it, but then i found it on dvd for a dollar, and thought "what the hell?".
i give this movie a strong 8.5, and i recommend to all the people not liking it to re-watch it!

I agree. It features an excellent performance from Keitel. With all these superhero movies out these days, this movie is a breath of fresh air. There was something real about his performance - it much better than the Nic Cage version.

I would call it more *overrated* within the arthouse set, of which I consider myself a member.
