Anybody know who makes decisions about the franchise that I can contact?
I'm hoping to put together a petition to stop Fox from ignoring this movie in future installments. I know that it would make absolutely no difference but being able to do nothing about it doesn't sit well with me. Is Alien 3 perfect? No. But what makes the franchise so special is that each movie has it's own distinctive theme and atmosphere. Fox and Blompkamp want to ignore two of them to make what's looking like an Aliens clone, destroying what I've always seen as a brave if provocative ending to Ripley's story. It'd be great if we Alien 3 fans (what few there are of us) could at least show those in charge that we exist. Remember, Alien 3 was never a panned movie like Superman IV or Jaws 3/The Revenge, rather a divisive one, and the Assembly Cut has added an awful lot to it in many respects. It deserves to be a part of the canon and always will.
