What do you couple the soundtrack with?
Don't know why, but I think of the 18th century when I hear the soundtrack. Goes so well with this video of Gustav III

I think an actual orchestra would have sounded much better, and the electric piano makes me roll my eyes. The film's about 1492, but when I hear the electric piano and new age music, I expect the camera to shift and we see the Spanish sipping drinks at the pool bar at a resort.
shareI actually think the electric piano part adds a lot to the feel of the soundtrack. My favourite part though is the normal piano, it sounds so noble.
I didn't even pay attention to the fact that it was an electric piano btw. I just thought of it as... well just a part of this song.
But it's a soundtrack of a film score. It needs to work in the film, not sell albums.
shareI remember reading The Three Musketeers several years ago and during that time I was jamming to the 1492 soundtrack almost nonstop. I remember imagining a Ridley Scott movie version with "Light and Shadow" playing as the theme. I thought that would have been awesome. Still do actually.
