What was up with Jean's pants?
Was she wearing any? They were nude colored and looked like her legs, but she had pockets? Huh?

shareI always assumed that wasn't wearing any. Some people have said she wears skin colored pants. It looked ridiculous watching her from the front angles. Looked like a one piece bikini suit. I didn't like it however since it didn't suit her character
shareBut then how do you explain the pockets?

A skin colored pant. It did look weird and vulgar at times
shareHer pants aren't even the same color as her skin… She's just wearing beige/gold pants. Obviously she doesn't have pockets in her legs, why is this even a question?
shareI hated her costume. The Phoenix costume was much better.

The costume she wore in the TV show was - as with all the other members of the core X-Men team - based upon the one she sported in the comics of the time, which was actually blue and yellow (or gold, depending on the artist).

The flesh tone given to her outfit in the X-Men cartoon was likely an error that had the misfortune of sticking. Mind you, I'm simply speculating here, but as you saw in the image I've linked to, it's not meant to be that colour. The X-Men's brief appearance in the 1990's Spider-Man cartoon even restored Jean's costume to its proper blue and yellow colour scheme.
We all have our problems, some just hide it better.
Agreed. Everything was wrong about that costume, from the color to the face "mask" to the fact that it didn't fit her character at all.
somebody says something that you think is wrong or incredibly stupid.

The last episode of the series shows jeans costume as intended. The skin tone pants were gold.
shareI felt the same as you at first, but like others have said if you look carefully it is not the same color as her face...
Just badly chosen pants.
I always thought she wasn't wearing any, to be honest. Costumes like that (or less) were not uncommon in the comics.
