Jimmy Fallon is not going to give NBC the results that they want.

Late Night Talk shows are already kind of an outdated thing. People that grew up with them still watch them but NBC is not going to get crazy numbers from the younger demographic just because Fallon is hosting. People used to love watching talk shows at night because they couldn't watch an interview with a celebrity or watch a band perform on youtube. They also didn't have tablets and other devices to keep them occupied before bed. The older demographic that still watches The Tonight Show is going to be turned off by all of Jimmy Fallon's talk about the internet and social media. They're not going to lose all of their older audience and some younger people will watch for Fallon but it's not going to produce the numbers that they want.

I just hope Jimmy skips the parlour games he insists on playing with his guests. It makes "Late Night" feel more like "The Price Is Right".

The Tonight Show is an institution on NBC. Things would have to get REALLY bad for them to axe it. And the standards for TV ratings are very lax in the 11:30-12:30 timeslot.

I personally can't stand Jimmy Fallon. Something about him just bugs me and he tries too hard to be funny. But Leno is done. He got so much *beep* when he returned that it bogged his entire second run hosting.

They'll keep Fallon around no matter what. They've been grooming him hard. And his boyishness combined with his viral video appeal (assuming he'll keep up) will bridge the gap between old folks and younger people. A feat Conan couldn't pull off.

I've been watching the Tonight Show since Carson hosted it from NYC, and have enjoyed clips of Steve Allen and Jack Paar. Not religiously, but at least once in a while. I did not enjoy Leno as much as I did the other 3. I'm not overly enthusiastic about Jimmy. I would have preferred the other Jimmy, Kimmel. I just generally find him funnier, though Fallon has his moments. I wish him luck. We'll see how he does.

I've watched Jay for years and I just really don't like Jimmy. I'll watch at least his first show as the new host, but its not something I'll do all the time like I did with Jay.

I do have to say I didn't always like Jay and I liked David just because my mom liked David, but after seeing a few people on his show that I liked, it didn't watch David much after that and I find Jay to be more funnier while David bores me to tears, even though he is somewhat funny. I'll try miss Jay. It almost feels like a death because you know you won't be seeing him after the nightly news.

Jimmy said he is going keep "Thank You notes"

That's one of Jimmy's worst bits. As soon as he said that I knew his new show was gonna suck as hard as his old one. Tonight Show bits need to be interactive and fun. Not sitting there watching somebody perform a skit for their own amusement.

I give Fallon 7 months.

Besides that NBC has fought for Jimmy, I seriously doubt that they will abruptly change him because of LORNE MICHAELS who is the Executive Producer for Jimmy, Seth Myers and SNL... he is like a Godfather figure.

Jimmy Fallon won't save the show because he's not funny. If you watch his old SNL performances, you can see that. And let's not even bring up his failed abortion of a movie career...

My prediction: The show will limp along for a few years and then finally end. Jimmy Fallon will be the last host of The Tonight Show.

Fallon had a better movie career then Leno.

I've never been a big fan of Fallon. Even on SNL he was the guy most known for laughing during skits spontaneously. He has a goofiness to him that is annoying and not "laugh out loud" funny like Conan. NBC made a mistake, again. You just don't get rid of the King of Late night, ever. Jay Leno was safe. He was a guy whose comedy made you feel better before you went to bed. He'd make you laugh, he was someone you could relate to. I grew up with Jay Leno.

Fallon is a guy you have to take in small doses. I can't watch him forever. His stand-up to this day is still awkward during the monologues. Jay was cool, calm and professional, and you could see it. It made him almost funnier.

I don't think NBC will bring Jay back once Fallon's numbers tank because then they'll have to admit they made another mistake. But they will rue the day they got rid of Jay.

That is what I know him for too. Always ruining the skits because he thought he was so funny. It will be interesting to see how he does for the Tonight show.

What a dumb comment, Fallon also has a better movie career than my doctor.

The point is given the platform Fallon was given he still managed to completely fail.

look im important

I agree 100%. There are too many comedy shows going after the 18-34 year old demographic. Even if Fallon does a good job, it is doubtful NBC will get the numbers they expect. At least with Leno, they had OK numbers in the younger demographic and dominated the older one.

Six months from now, the media will most likely be lambasting NBC for throwing away an older viewing audience.

BRING JAY BACK ALREADY!
