the odyssey on dvd?
do we trust this guy when he says its coming on dvd? i`m starting to get worry.. haven`t heard anything for months now.
shareI actually got an email today from Omni saying they finally have it out on T.V. You have to order it from there. The only problem is that it's $99.99 plus $12 bucks with shipping and handling!

I'm glad it's official out on DVD, but I think that's a bit tooooooooooooooooooo much.

shareHm, I doubt it. It came from the omnifilm.com address, and we've been filled in on the details of the DVD release for the past year or so now.
Also on their website if you go to Drama, you can find the same ordering instructions that the email provides.
I'm tempted, but $100 is a lot to shell out at once, even though it seems on par with the going price of most DVD sets... ;_;
You think so? Last time I bought a DVD set, it was 40-50 Canadian for one full T.V season (25 episodes). 39 episodes would be one and a half full seasons (kinda). I think it's a bit much personally.

There were 3 season with 13 episodes in each season.
My guess is that this is a fan release set and not something that is going to be sold in stores or on Amazon.
If you read the past few years postings you’ll see, we the fans, have been asking for a DVD release for a long time now. Well we finally got our wish. I’m also guessing that there were only so many copies produced just for us the fans. That could also explain the high too, as it was never intended for mass distribution.

Do you mean fan release as it's unofficial of some sorts or released for the fans who remember the show? I think it's the latter but I'm not sure.
I've read some of the past few years of posts and noticed that you've been asking for it for a while.
I emailed Gary and he said the cost is high because they want to break even on the sales since it cost quite a bit for this project. I'll probably get a copy if I get enough money or if it gets a bit cheaper. We'll see what happens.

Yes, I am a fan of the show and I am one of the fans who were hoping that it would come out on DVD.
When I say a “fan release” I mean that “Gary” and the rest of the team at “Omni” read our posts and listened. They are releasing an “Official Studio Copy” of the show out on DVD because we the fans requested it. I have no doubt what so ever that $99 is what it cost them to reproduce a copy of the shows on DVD.
I am very happy that Gary and Omni would listen to it’s fans and put out a copy of “The Odyssey“. And I’m more then happy to show my support by ordering a copy as soon as I can.

I'm glad they did too. I hope to purchase it one day soon. Great show that should NOT have been canceled, especially with that cliffhanger.
