Confused About Sierra Jones...

I bought the DVD and have been watching it like crazy since I got it, I missed this show so bad!!! Anyways, I'm near the end of the second season, and I'm a little confused about Sierra Jones. Near the end of the first season, it showed a girl who looked like Media/Sierra Jones in a coma at the same place as Jay. However, in the next season, Andrea Nemeth plays a girl named Sierra Jones who is a famous celebrity. Was anyone else confused by this?

Sierra Jones WAS a patient at Driftwood... she says so herself when discussing the fundraiser benefit that she plans for Driftwood... she talks to Donna and Keith about it when Donna mentions that she thought she saw her there as a patient... that's why she wanted to have the fundraiser in the first place.

....... I wonder ... if that means Sierra was dreaming WITH Jay ...

That's an interesting idea Sunraysoul. I remember there was an episode where Medea put on the "Vest of Power" which seemingly allowed her to travel to the Upworld and that's when we saw Sierra as a patient at driftwood. And then later on in the Downworld, Medea said something like "I've been in Jay's world, I know why he's the wrecker."

I often wondered though Medea was a completely different character from Sierra, at least at first. Like for example, Sierra was never out to hurt Jay.

Yeah, I had the same question until I got to the episode where she said she was a patient. It still seems to me like they changed direction with her being in the Upworld and it seemed pretty out of place to have her randomly famous and turning up at the clinic again. How long has she even been awake? It can't be long.

What's really bothering me right now (I'm still watching season two) is how completely random Medea's about-face is. She was the most evil, antagonistic character for the whole run of the show and then suddenly I'm supposed to care about her and feel bad for her. Her changing sides happens literally in one scene and for no reason. Equally suddenly Macro goes from being sort of a harmless bad guy who is less out to get our hero than he is just desperate to be the coolest kid to being hard core nasty. Well, supposedly. So we have the bizarre scene in the ep I'm watching right now of Medea telling Macro he's disgusting and being all morally righteous.

Just... what? No. She was the force and brains behind him the whole time he was running things, he just likes to see himself on television. Don't buy the role reversal at all.

On the whole, season one seemed like the writers knew all the answers and knew exactly where the story was going, but season two seems like they're making it up as they go along and actively contradicting themselves. This is still a pretty incredible show, very creative, but I'm very disappointed with how it ended up unfolding.
