The Halloween ep is the single funniest black sitcom ep ever! Agree?

This ep from Season 1 had SOOOOOOOOOOO many LOL moments.

*Cole getting beat up by a fake ghost and Martin trying to protect him by attacking the air.
*Tommy being possessed.
*Cole trying to put a chip in Pam's cleavage thinking it was the dip.
*Martin speaking those fake lines from that book to reverse the curse.

So much more I could go on and on.

I was trying to think of another ep from any other black sitcom that I can remember that was even remotely close to being as funny as this one and I draw a blank every time.

I truly believe that this was the single funniest episode from a black comedy sitcom ever.

Yup it is. I still laugh at that episode when I watch it.

The halloween episode from Moesha "the nutty moesha" you can see it on youtube that was a pretty funny episode.

The Fresh Prince of Bel air halloween episode from Season 4. That was hillarious.

reply

You HAVE to watch the season 4 "DMV Blues" Episode. That and season 2 "No Justice No Peace" are the funniest episodes I have seen in comedy period.

What's up dude...'Martin' Disciple here. I thought I was the only one that thought that DMV episode was hilarious. Not a lot of people used to talk about that one. It was in the later years...season 2 episodes were the ones people mostly go back to. But I was still there every week watching ol' Marty Marrrt. The way miss Jheri KO'd Martin in round 2 once she started whaling on Tommy was priceless. Martin was just out...lol I've made over a thousand youtube vids over 8 years and people know he had a suuuuuper heavy influence on me, the way I talk in detail. Dude's show grabbed me from the first scene. I WAS HALF...NOT WHOLE!!! UNTIL YOU CAME INTO MY LIIIIIFE!!!!

Baby, that voice!

Dude was unmatched in talent.

Martin: trick or treat y'all asses outta here!!! Pam: I told y'all he would put us out!! Martin: well, if you knew it, get to going....lol!!!!!

reply

I don't know what you mean by "black episode" but it is one of the funniest sitcom episodes ever!! Great show...

reply

Meaning a show with a black cast geared towards bringing in a black audience.

The opposite would be a show like Friends.

reply

hmmm i still don't get it. it's a funny episode no matter who you are!

reply

Of course it is. But Martin as a whole is a show that is made for a specific target audience. Just like Friends, or Seinfeld, or The George Lopez Show. The creators hope everybody loves the show, but its first goal is to grab the attention of the specific audience they are gunning for. Everything else is icing on the cake. That's all I'm saying.

I appreciate your efforts at trying to elevate deliberately obtuse to a new level.

Concerning the OP, the very special episode of Fresh Prince with the gun thing was funnier than every ep of Martin put together. Martin was a stupid show.

This fails harder than I could ever express in words.😠

Or rather I could express it, but it would probably get deleted by admin.

You know what? Call me crazy, but I always thought Cole placed that chip in the split of Pam's rear. Pam did have a very nice tail and let's be honest, who searches for "dip" at chest level lol? Pam's rear was at table level which is why I always assumed it was her rear.

Holiday Blues, Really Gina is not my lover, Feast or Famine, Baby You Can Drive my Car, Nuthin Goin on But The Rent and Guard Your Grill are some of the other ones I watch regularly along with the Halloween episodes.

reply

Oh and Romantic Weekend!! That ain't no damn puppy!!!

reply

Romantic was good but there's others I like more (The New Jack City One for instance).

But when Gina says to Martin (after he slayed the "No Damn Puppy"), "You got me kinda hot watching you,..." man that was so funny the way she said that:):)

Yes! I love it when they went to Chilligan's Island! 

reply

Yes! It was HILarious. I can watch this episode a million times and never get tired of it. I also love Boo in the House in which Martin and Gina purchase their first house. I wish they had made more Halloween episodes.
