1. Their real-life first names are either the same as their character's first names, or slightly similar to them:

Martin -------> Martin
Tommy --------> Tommy
Carl ---------> Cole
Tisha --------> Gina

2. Their character's last names are either words in the dictionary, or alternate spellings of it:

Payne --------> pain
Strong -------> strong
Brown --------> brown
Waters -------> water

Lol Tommy's last name was "Strawn" not "Strong" a common misconception.

Yes! That was clarified on the back of Tommy's basketball jersey in the episode where him, Martin, and Cole played 3-on-3 with women from the WNBA, I believe?

That and the episode where Tommy's dad (John Amos) comes to visit. On dad's military shirt you can clearly see the last name.

And something else i noticed was that the character that played Cole, real name is Carl Payne. His real life last name is that same as Martin's last name is on the show.
