IFC is censoring Larry

Are they removing drug references from the show? there is a scene where Larry's manager, Stevie Grant, tells Artie that He went to Larry's Mother's funeral. Artie says,"I saw you there, behind a tree, on your cell phone, tooting up." When I watched it on IFC, Tooting up had been removed.

I saw a scene on IFC with Stevie Grant doing coke in a conference room. IFC has to edit some things to make room for the commercials.

most episodes are 23 minutes or less. some are less than 20 min.
some are 24-25 min. Plus the IFC episodes are listed as 35 min and that leaves plenty of time for commercials, promos, etc.

What episode is this?
Why would IFC edit out 'Tooting up', that makes no sense?

they're not censoring anything. have you noticed how many swear words they use? they let the F word, the S word, all of them. IFC wouldn't censor the larry sanders show, i mean, for gods sake they show pulp fiction fully uncensored as well as hostel II.

The OP is not entirely crazy here, don't be so dismissive. I haven't seen any instances yet of IFC censoring Larry Sanders episodes but I haven't seen them all either.

I have seen many episodes of The Whitest Kids U Know and IFC recently edited out the cursing and I'm pretty sure they censored a drawing but that may have been part of the original sketch (tho it doesn't look like it but my memory recall is not good).

IFC is definitely *beep* around with some movies too as I have noticed one or two instances where the cursing was either blanked out or they showed the dubbed version. Then again they still also show a ton of movies and shows uncensored. I don't quite understand if it's during the day they censor or what goes on and I do not care either b/c I quit watching IFC (except for Larry Sanders, Mr. Show, and one or two other shows) ever since they started throwing advertising in during movie showtimes. And if I catch them censoring the shows they have showcased then I'll just watch Sundance and Turner Classic Movies instead.

Sorry, but that's got to be one of the funniest/naive things I've read here in a while. Of course IFC censors shows. They just don't usually censor the swear words to draw attention to the editing. ALL syndicated shows have little bits chopped out to give up more advertising airtime. It's a practice as old as Merv Griffin, if he were still alive. As a matter fact, local stations will often cut out seconds of syndicated shows behind the networks back (which they can get into serious trouble over if they get caught), to squeeze in more local advertising usuually in the form of station promotions. You could say a little birdy told me this information.

Ha, IFC wouldn't censor Larry Sanders. That's cute.

IFC IS USING F#@$@ING COMMERCIALS!!!

Now u know why they call me Chicago Wind, fool.

IFC is so LAME!

For christ sake it's SYNDICATION! It sucks! It's evil! There is no rhyme or reason to the editing other then to *beep* up shows on the of chance that it can squeeze more commercials in somewhere. We finally after years and years of waiting got the show on DVD in its entirety. Buy it! Leave the syndicated, chop-shop versions in the black hole of television where they belong.

Amen to THAT.

I stopped watching IFC when they started showing commercials during movies.

Do you know how it compares to Reelz? I mean, I'm not measuring the time difference, but Reelz is what I record it out of, but it is fully censored, for profanity... Does IFC at least keep that? It sucks to think that some content is filtered out, ever, beyond cursing. *beep* Reelz. IFC is great, though - I'm a dummy.
