It's an extra included in the DVD box set. Shandling goes to Sharon Stone's house and they have breakfast while talking about the episode she appeared in as well as their shared past as struggling actors.

My question is: why?? Sure, like any successful celeb, Shandling has an ego, but this was about the biggest waste of 30 minutes I've ever seen. Their conversation was ridiculously boring and self-centered, made all the worse by the fact that they were mic'ed while eating (a breakfast spread fit for a dozen people), allowing the viewer to hear every nuance of their mastication in fine detail. Was this just a chance for Shandling to do a segment with Sharon Stone, for the purpose of letting us know he still retains a measure of celebrity -- an ironic possibility given the premise of her Larry Sanders episode? I just can't understand how this didn't get left on the cutting room floor.

I agree--the quasi-interviews between Shandling and his famous friends are boring and self-aggrandizing. The Tom Petty interview was even worse--Petty comes off as either stupid or stoned or both--and the softball questions posed by students at the university Q & A were also disappointing.

When the first season of "Sanders" was released back on DVD back in about 2001, it included a half-hour interview with Shandling by Tom Shales which was not included on any of the newer DVDs, and which is probably more informative than any of the current bonus features.

I wouldn't mind these current bonus features so much were it not for the fact that I have so many other questions relating to the background of other episodes of the show--the fact that most of the writing staff quit prior to Season 6 is a significant happening that goes completely unmentioned.

I also recall HBO airing promos for the show before its premiere which used bits not included in any final episodes; it would be cool to have these included as a DVD bonus as well.
