shareI would guess finding out about what is in his blood that makes him a vampire, continuing to withdraw slowly the amount of blood he drinks and consume greater amounts of food and not using his powers, accepting like any other police officer that people die and that can't always be prevented. Lastly, I know Nick tried to do as Natalie told him to, but he seemed to want both to become cured but at the same time keep his powers. He needed to really do all she said and fully reject the use of his powers.

Yes, I did. But just because that failed, doesn't mean the next thing would fail. The message of the show was that you keep trying to find the cure. That is what drew me to the show and what made it unique.
