I'm intrigued by this. Rik and Ade appear back together for Comic Relief but I wonder if it has bigger implications or is it simply a one off event? I guess ultimately the fans want more Bottom but I wonder if the magic is still there.
Ade looked to be on good form but, as much as I hate to say this, Rik looked old, tired and jaded. Watching his small performance, he looked less like the great Mayall we know and more like an embarrassing uncle who is trying to get a laugh out of a 20 year old joke. Just thinking this makes me feel like I'm defiling the memory of a beloved parent but sadly that is how his performance made me feel. I do hope I'm wrong and that perhaps Rik was just a bit over excited on the night.
