Good Lord! Use spell check and proper capitalization so I can understand what you are saying.

reply

They don't because it's ridiculously cruel to animals.

I think some ppl use the word cruel alittle to freely. to some ppl.. riding horses in itself is cruel to them. I think.. if the horses werent hurt and they enjoyed their job.. whats wrong with it?

and yes.. some horses do enjoy their jobs!

reply

I wasn't talking about simply riding horses, I'm talking about diving them. Electrical prods and trap doors were used to get the horses to move if they were too frightened (and yes, animals can feel pain). The horses were made to dive several times a day, several days in a row, and were slaughtered once their best days were over.

"Come on, pelican!"

reply

obviously horses can feel pain! do u think I'm one of those tard who thinks they dont have souls either?

I dont think you understood me properly..

I"m saying SOME PEOPLE think that simply riding a horse is cruel.. when it's really not.. and some horses even enjoy it!

reply

My original comment was that horse diving was cruel, and then you came in talking about just riding them. I don't see where you're trying to go with that when the thread's about horse diving.

"Come on, pelican!"

reply

yes.. I'm saying.. you dont know what is cruel. YOU were not there YOU do not know what they did.. your going off some animal activists crap. It could just be a lie b/c some1 didnt like seeing horses do that. those same ppl (peta and affiliates) believe that simply riding horses is a horrid thing and all of them should be set free

reply

i have not seen diving, but they do use the same equipment for something called vaulting.

Here is a link to a pic and small article about a diving horse in New York. The article states the horse is trained to dive without prods, trap doors, etc.

Someone who actually was lucky enough to get a hold of a copy of Sonora's auto-biography said she stated they never ever hurt the horses and the horses loved jumping. She said one horse loved it so much it would run up the ramp before they gave it the signal to go. And she also said if one of the horses was frightened to jump they wouldn't force it and they would use another horse that enjoyed jumping and she said they didn't hurt the horses or used any cruel objects on them. I see nothing cruel and bad about this and I love animals! And I'm really sick of hearing the "animal lovers" saying practically everything towards animals is cruel if a human is involved! I wish they still did horse divings! I would love to see it in person or I might've been the next Sonora Carver! It looked like so much fun!

reply

i don't see how a horse would enjoy jumping off a diving board!

There are other ways to get into the water than jumping 50 feet into it. If someone forced me to do that, I would consider it abuse. What if somebody dropped a dog or a cat from that high? The only reason they jump is because they can't go backwards once they're tilted downward.

I just watched this movie for the first time in years and it never occurred to me that horse diving for shows could be cruel...all I know is that if someone made me bungee jump into a pool 3 times a day I better LOVE doing it. It's like skydiving too. Some people love it. Some people are deathly afraid of it. I guess the same could be said for horses and diving.

You know what, horse diving has never been outlawed and is still done to this day, even though diving mules have become a more bigger attraction. It just doesn't get the attention it once did.

Fads come in and out. Remember how popular Figure Skating once was? Specials and shows on every other week. Now, we're lucky to see the nationals and worlds on tv now.

Anyways, you want to see a true life movie that portrays true cruel acts upon horses, co-starring WHCBB star Gabriel Anwar. It's called In Pursuit of Honor. Dispicable what the USA military was going to do to it's cavlary mounts.

Just watched this movie and it didn't seem to me that horse diving was cruel to the animal. It looked like the horse was okay while doing the dive into the water.

I'm sure the folks at Disney decided to spare the audience the reality of training horses to do something like that. The animal rights crowd probably makes it out to be far worse than it really was, but Disney certainly made it less. You'd have to ask somebody who actually trained horses to do it, or something like it. They might give you an honest answer.
