I'm going over the cast list from the original presskit and Gina Gershon is listed as playing "Stephanie". An additional actress - Debbie Dawson, listed as "Stephanie's Secretary" - isn't among the cast either. Wonder what the story is about why Gina's character was cut out.
Throughout the novel, there's a running plot thread concerning Max's work on his agency's biggest account, for a bank called Fidelity Federal. Stephanie Deluc is the marketing director for the bank, and Max and his boss Rosemary have quite an adversarial relationship with her. Since the finished movie doesn't really include any aspect of that plotline, I'm assuming that's why Gina ended up on the cutting room floor. But it's interesting to know that the movie did originally feature it in some form.
shareGee, I thought it was because the film couldn't have handled any more estrogen than Sarandon and company already supplied. Plus, the hot factor would have gone through the roof with Gina in it.
