Remake?

Why do we remake films? There are many reasons but I would say a good one is if the original has a strong story or concept but was not all that successfull and is dated today. The original Total Recall was very successfull and is not dated so a remake was a cheap cash-in. However, Wedlock I think grants a remake. I think the conecpt is strong and could be made into a great futuristic thrill ride today. Just the concept of two convicts who hate each other are on the run together and if they seperate their heads blow off is pretty cool. The original was not all that successfull, suffered from a low budget and is abit dated today, so a remake on that I would welcome instead of this thing.

I would cast Ryan Gosling and Mila Kunis as the leads.

Ironically there's some speculation around, that this was an unofficial loose remake of The Defiant Ones, a theory with which I wouldn't agree. (Both movies have little in common apart from escaped convicts.)

I agree. A remake might work with Wedlock, which never looked beyond its obvious B grade pretensions.šŸ
