When Kritski find his car almost dismantled and touches the car, the alarm turns itself on.
But since the car has no battery after dismantling, the alarm can not operate. :D

I high quality alarm system has its own built in battery.

Hmm... perhaps later (today). I don't think it had that back in the 80's/90's.
Unless someone can confirm otherwise.

I had a car alarm in the late 1990’s. It was connected to the car battery.

I'm gonna go with filmfanticNorCal.

That was a fancy car. If all you have to do to disable the alarm was pop the hood and undo the battery, that would be a pretty shitty alarm.
