Full Moon replacement set.

As some of you probably know, the first DVD box set of Subspecies had several glitches. Well, after some e-mail communication and much patience, they finally shipped me a new set completely free of charge, and without even asking for the original set.

Not only are the discs free of errors and freezes, each movie now has its own case and an individual cover... not to mention an actual box for the set itself. This is a massive improvement.
Hats off to Full Moon, they came through.

Does that mean that if I order the boxset from Fullmoon direct,it will be sent free of any flaws???? I'd really appreciate a reply, cause at the moment,I don't know whether it's worth ordering the box. Everybody is complaining about the discs being filled with errors...

Please, somebody give us an update as to the quality of the "new" boxsets that are supposedly being sold by fullmoondirect.com. I too would like to purchase the Subspecies and Trancers boxsets, but don't want to if they are full of glitches. Like the other guy said, if I order it - will I get the "new and improved" sets or will I be shipped the old one? If someone has bought either one recently drop us a line.

We are being ignored for some reason.Damn it. Listen, man, do you have any idea whether the Spanish Subspecies DVDs have forced Spanish subtitles??? I would rather buy the boxset, but what if it's still glitched????

reply

Yeah, its hard to get to the bottom of this. If you go to fullmoondirect.com, notice that the subspecies boxset is no longer being sold anyway? I decided to wait it out. Instead of getting the Subspecies boxset right away, I ordered the Trancers set and the Dollman set, so we'll see how those are. I know that the spanish ones have "optional" subtitles...I suppose I might go that route too (just getting the first three spanish imports).

So we're in the same damn situation, I see...Mine is even worse though. I live in Europe you see,and ordering from the US is more complicated for someone in my position, but what I wanted to add is this: the problem with ordering those DVDs separately is not just a matter of price, but also the fact that Subspecies 3 would not be among them. I'm sure you know that. So I'd end up having parts 1, 2 and 4 and Vampire Journals, but not that one. And it pisses me off, I have to say.

reply

Yeah you're right, going with the Spanish ones means you won't get Part 3. Like I said I'm gonna wait it out until Full Moon fixes them and acknowledges that there was a problem with the original set and that a "new and improved" set is available. I just recieved Full Moon's "Dollman" boxset and I can tell you this: the first disc in the set has not 2, but 3(!) "audio dropouts" during the movie. I don't see what is so hard about putting out a glitch free product...lots of companies (with even less money than Full Moon) can afford to put out decent discs why can't they? Check back sometime, I'm gonna actually call Full Moon and talk to a rep about the status of their Subspecies set.

I know for a fact that the boxset will be available at the beginning of this year again. The people at the orderdesk told me so. According to what they claim, the Epic Collection has already been repaired and the glitches removed. I dare not take the risk right now, because if I got glitched movies, I'd have to solve things from a great distance, and if Fullmoon are not serious people (not sure they are),all they will have to do is ignore me and I'd be screwed! Maybe it'd be smart to buy those DVDs separately, without the 3rd part of Subspecies,at first. Then later, when finances allow it, try to get the boxset. Worst case scenario, It'll be glitched but you won't be so unhappy as you'd have those movies anyway(almost all). But if at least the 3rd part worked, you'd have them all!!! I don't know,so many thoughts going through my mind right now that I'd be willing to do just about anything to get my hands on these movies, my favorites EVER,by the way.

Really? Good to hear. Any details? Is packaging the old style with all the discs flopped together? Seperate cases? Thanks for the heads up!

reply

Just got the boxset. Plays perfect! Five discs in five cases. All in a nice box. I am very pleased with it!
