Grew Up Watching These Films, Do They Still Hold Up?

Or should I just leave my nostalgic fond memories of the flicks untarnished?

As a kid I was in love with the way each film carried on from the previous one. I don't know why but that was just really rewarding to me, it was because the story lasted longer maybe.

Yes and no.

The Setting: Very gothic and haunting.

Characters: Most of characters are forgettable, but empathetic. With that being said, Radu is a villain for the ages, he's one of greatest vampire villains in cinematic history. Outside of Nosferatu, Dracula (Lee and Lugosi), Jerry (Fright Night), the Vampire gang (Near Dark), the Lost Boys, and Louis/Lestat I can't think of too many more.

Special Effects: This is the controversial part. It helps that the movie was made pre-CGI craze, yet it hurts it. Some parts of it look dated, obviously. It's 1991 in a poor Eastern-bloc country.

These movies are great right up until the actors start talking.

I['m watching it now. It's fairly entertaining. One of Full Moon's better efforts.

If you have a soft spot for this kind of low budget straight to the video story horror, I'd say yes.

I admire the HELL out of Charles Band. I am always rooting for Full Moon. No matter how tiny their budget may be, it always feel like they took time to make the movie and not just to toss 1 off.
