The Star Trek Community Mourns The Passing Of Legendary Actor Christopher Plummer

Shatner was understudy to Plummer playing Henry V at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in 1956. Many Canadian actors of that era started there including Gordon Pinsent.

Include three youtube clips about Plummer and one from ST VI. Thoughts from Shatner, Mount, Frakes, Pegg, etc.

Christopher Plummer played the primary antagonist General Chang in the final TOS film, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. The actor preferred not to take on the typical Klingon hair, giving him a unique look for Klingons. Fitting well with his roots as a Shakespearean actor, Chang was also fond of quoting the Bard, as can be seen in the climactic battle scene below.

A Klingon killer smile.

The only other Klingon who I remember smiling (grinned actually) was in TOS Errand of Mercy (1967, Season 1 episode 26).

John Colicos. (Who also played Baltar in the original Battlestar Galactica)

Plummer was fabulous as Chang. I’m not a big fan of STVI - although it’s a big step up from the lousy V - but his commanding performance makes it worth watching.
