Excelsior Heading Home from Beta Quadrant on Full Impulse Power

So the Excelsior is heading from Beta quadrant on full impulse power. When is Sulu expecting to actually get there? 3875?

"Live long and suck it, Zachary Quinto!"

Starfleet exiled him there on a three year mission to catalog gaseous anomalies. Gues they weren't in. Hurry to get him back.

I wondered that as well, however, I just assumed that the warp engines were down for maintenance or some such.

So it goes.

I suppose at times they might do it just for practice. But really, if you're that far out and the warp engines are being worked on, for all practical purposes you might as well just sit still. Full impulse isn't going to get you anywhere that the warp engines can't get you in 10 seconds, once they're working again.

No, no...the Excelsior is equipped with M-Pulse drive. Almost as powerful as...Ion Power!

"Lovey-dovey. Bonk bonk on the head!"

reply

Maybe there was a starbase in impulse range?

You own a Ferrari and have an open road.... you drive that thing 100 miles per hour. However, every once in a while you gotta let the engines rest and set it at cruise control.

Or maybe they stopped for Slurpees.
