More like "Running from the Enemy"

what's up with the misleading title of this movie? She was only sleeping with him for about 10 minutes of the movie.

reply

She was "sleeping" with him the time they were married.

reply

The title of a movie is implying what the plot is. They were not sleeping together in this movie beyond the first 10 minutes. She was running from him for the majority of the film.

reply

It's a phrase used to signify domestic abuse.

I must warn you. I'm very susceptible to flattery.

reply

Ahh, I see, thanks. Some many phrases, so little time.

reply

No problem.

There was more ‘sleeping with’ in the uncut version, the US version had a whole sex scene removed: https://youtu.be/8JmtFxRbVFk

I suppose you could go for a more apt title like:

Sleeping with the Enemy then Faking Your Own Death and Esacping the Enemy then Starting a New Life With a Bearded Hottie Only to Have the Enemy Return to Cause Mischief so You Have to Kill the Enemy

But it might not have rolled off the tongue quite as well.

Lol

I don’t like the title either but for different reasons. “Enemy” is a word more associated with spy or mob crime films. Julia’s character was also married to the “enemy” and living with the “enemy” but those words are not as salacious as “sleeping with”. Of course the producers stuck Julia in the bath with the “Sleeping With” title on the poster to lure in the mouth-breathing male demographic.
