Laura a bit too....calm?

When Laura escapes her hubby for a time, at the beginning: She seems just way too....calm & planned.

I get that she had time (and severe necessity!) to plan packing a bag & saving money & smashing lights.

I just meant that she is fleeing from a maniac yet once on the bus she looks sad but totally calm! I'd be shaking like a leaf!
She also looks not only calm but RESTED on the bus! Wouldn't she be utterly exhausted?

Then once in Iowa, she has everything planned to a T! She also, save being cold at intimacy with Ben, seems to have no trauma whatsoever from basically being held *prisoner* by her own husband.


In the novel, its not quite that smooth. I get that its a film & has time constraints, but still.
The film was said to be a Julia Roberts "vehicle" and I guess that's what it was.
Still enjoyable though.
