The hands-down best WC Fields impersonation EVER

Starting with an incredible facial resemblance, Mr. Leeman captures every nuance of body language, the flinching shrugs, etc. as well as a perfect vocal imitation. I happened to have been on the set of "W.C. Fields and Me" for one scene, and Steiger pales in comparison to this actor. The writers even include reference to his fields with his "euphonious appellation" (directed to Mae West), and kumquat ("What about my kumquats!!!). I'm astounded that he wasn't called on more frequently.

Also felt the lead actors were wonderful, reminiscent of stars of the Golden Age, and any guy would have risked his life for the pulchritudinous Ms. Connelly.

hehe couldn't agree more. I only watched this film again the other day, and loved the Bob Leeman scene (which I seemed to have over looked years ago). This movie is such a gem!

This movie really does capture the classic Hollywood feel, I can think of very few post Golden-Age films that do it so perfectly.

I am a great fan of the golden age of Hollywood, and totally agree how well it captured the era. Billy Campbell's aw-shucks, stammering style, especially when talking to the, literally, "to die for" Jennifer C, was reminiscent of a young Jimmy Stewart. As I'm sure you're aware, apocryphal rumors circulated around Errol Flynn's being a Nazi spy. Love this film.
